Hello! My name is Ashley. I'm a married, mother of 2. We have been married for 6 years and together for 12. My son is 9 and daughter is 7. They were the force behind my journey into fitness.
After 2 pregnancies and a serious lack of self care I managed to tip the scale at roughly 260 pounds. I was unhappy, in nearly chronic pain, couldn't play with my kids, hated shopping for clothes, I didn't want to get up every day. It was just so much work. It was just after Christmas 2013 that I just couldn't take it anymore, I had reached my breaking point. started by simply cutting out soda, figured replacing it with good ole water was a small step in a better direction. I also started cutting back on my food, no more seconds or thirds. That is when I found MyFitnessPal. It really helped me to put in perspective what a serving really was, how not just food but the nutrition in the food actually mattered. I started to log my foods, I purchased a digital kitchen scale to weigh things. Before this I was easily consuming 3,000-5,000 calories a day! After a couple of months I had lost some weight but it was slow going and I wanted faster results. I was going to start exercising. I didn't have much to go on other than the big popular things, yoga, pilates, running. They all seemed intimidating and I just wanted to start small, something in my home that was easy. I was still dealing with knee and back pain from the extra weight and was scared that I would hurt myself if I dove in too quickly. That is when I found the amazing Leslie Sansone and her Walk at Home videos. I laced up my walking shoes and haven't looked back. |
